In the world of international and domestic air travel, aerodromes co-exist in harmony by complying to a uniform set of rules and regulations. From small and medium-sized airports to international, each and every airport, must abide by these same rules on training, compliance and safety.
Unfortunately, small and medium-sized airports are often faced with a hefty price tag or hours of admin to be able to keep up with international aerodrome regulations. At AIRDAT, we believe every airport, no matter its size, should have access to the best and most effective training and compliance systems – that are cost effective or neutral for small and medium-sized airports.
Why does the aviation industry need flexibility from service providers?
While the likes of London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle airport may deal with huge numbers of international passengers every day, they’d likely see a lot less traffic without the regional airports that feed into them. Small and medium-sized airports act as the lifeblood of regional travel and yet, many of these smaller hubs grapple with limited budgets which can cause a problem when it comes to modernising and digitising their systems.
AIRDAT cost effective solutions for all
In response to this need, AIRDAT has created a flexible pricing structure that better supports the variety of airports that can benefit from our systems.
- Small Airports – for aviation partners with 1-300 employees and contractors and predominantly internal training, we offer a “per user” price structure so that the smallest airports needn’t pay for more than they use.
- Large Airports – for the largest international airports with thousands of employees and contractors, and 80-2,000 external companies operating on site, we offer an unlimited pricing structure. So, once a set fee has been paid, the airport can utilise our services and platforms freely and without incurring extra expense.
- Medium Airports – our newest price point better reflects the needs of the medium-sized airport, that is an airport with up to 2,000 employees and up to 50 companies operating on site. While some service providers require that such airports pay for the premium package or a per-service fee, AIRDAT have introduced a new unlimited pricing structure that allows users to utilise our platform freely, without having to pay the same as an airport that could be double or quadruple its size.
In addition, AIRDAT Billing Services offer an efficient solution for airports looking to neutralise the costs associated with their software subscription. By monetising permits, licences, and training schemes, airports can transform these admin tasks into revenue-generating activities that offset the investment in AIRDAT’ airport systems. Handling high-volume, low-value transactions can be resource-intensive for smaller airport operations teams. AIRDAT Billing Services reduces the burden by managing the entire billing process—from generating invoices and supporting payment processes to chasing overdue payments. This not only simplifies operations but ensures that your internal finance team can focus on other critical areas, making the entire billing cycle cost-effective and efficient for airports and training organisations of any size.
The benefits of a flexible price structure for medium-sized airports
The potential cost savings will, of course, be of value to medium-sized airports but the benefits go further than merely the financial. By providing unlimited access to our system, smaller airports will have access to the same training and compliance systems and features as the large airports. And from our point of view, these airports won’t put the same level of demand on our services or require the same level of maintenance. In short, it’s a no brainer.
AIRDAT in action at Exeter Airport
We hope it goes without saying that our success lies in the achievement of our aviation partners. We teamed up with Exeter Airport on the South Coast. With approximately half a million passengers in 2024, EXT couldn’t be described as small and yet is considerably smaller than the likes of London Gatwick and Manchester Airport. With the input of the team at Exeter, we digitised their training and brought operator licensing online in a cost-effective way that reduced their administration needs without breaking the bank.

The final word
The importance of collaboration and innovation throughout the industry cannot be overstressed and by making our training and compliance systems accessible to all, we’re levelling the playing field and helping drive progress and efficiency.
