Gatwick connects SPLUNK with AIRDAT Passport to gain visibility of airside handling agent resources in real time.

Every now and then, someone comes up with a great idea to make data even more useful. That someone this time around is the Gatwick Airport Commercial team.

They decided to reference AIRDAT’s Passport database which holds the communities airside training records (from drivers to headset operators) and combine this with data from the airside swipe access points.

These live data feeds were then interpreted using SPLUNK, the airports chosen Operational Intelligence software.

The result is the ability to know the resources and associated skills available at any one point in time. In addition to helping monitor handler SLA’s, when this data is combined with further feeds (such as live flight data) it enables greater refinement of Gatwick’s ACDM (Airport Collaborative Decision Making) algorithms.

Would this level of visibility be useful to your airport or organisation? It’s easier than you think. Contact us to find out more.
