Airside Driving Medicals
Medical standards can vary from airport to airport. Generally most airports require either a medical self declaration form or a full medical certificate to be produced in advance of, or during an Airside Driving course in order for the licence to be issued.
At Gatwick, generally with most people medicals have a 3 year validity, in line with the ADP validity. You are allowed a maximum of 3 months between attending your medical and presenting the certificate at your Airside Driving course. Gatwick do not accept self declarations.
At Heathrow, generally with most people medicals have a 5 year validity, in line with their ADP validity. Again, 3 months is allowed between the issue of the medical certificate and the issue of your ADP.
